FAQ

Think of this as a Marketing co-op, but for businesses in the construction industry. We book local contractors from your local community. We monitor they do what you ask and don’t add on stuff you may not need as part of our “no upsell” policy.

In our case, you don’t have to sell anything. If you hear someone complaining about problems around their home in normal conversations, just tell them what we do. Fix problems.

Word-of-mouth advertising is still the best way to grow a business, so is worth money to us as it saves our marketing bill each month.

All your referral has to is say your name when the book and week give you 10% of the job (ex GST) to as credit for your own jobs or you can cash it out if unexpected high bills come in.

The simple answer is no, but you can earn credit by referring us to your mates (see above) that you know can afford our cost effective basic services.

One thing we have learnt in over 30+ years in business is you don’t support your mates in business by asking them to do it for free, We also know there are mates out there that would sell you stuff you don’t really need.

We don’t do that, and keep it to basic 1 off services without the promise of ongoing work.

Think of it like the reward card at your local coffee shop. Send people to us and we give you 10% back of what they pay us (even if you book much lower priced stuff).

If new customers do repeat booking with us, You can get a 5% residual referral fee each time they book over the next 6 months. Even if they don’t mention you next time, as an incentive to encourage you to keep spreading the word about what we do.

No. Contractors, and customers, or even just friend and family can also make money by referring customers to us.

We don’t just ask you to give us a google review, the referral fee comes from the booking fee as you save us marketing cost, which we pass onto you or the customers if you like.

If you want a better price, you could put your job up on sites Air Tasker, but they also charge similar booking fees, so it doesn’t change our market set rates.

It’s also how we know if our service providers are doing a good job. People don’t give referrals to local businesses that don’t do the job, and our job is to manage that.

Basically a bunch of mates in the same area who don’t belong to a franchise group who does the marketing for them.

For the academics (and business consultants) out there, it’s a referral network on the value chain level of marketing with the objective to tap the full potential of a market by bundling specific local area resources.

No, that is what drives the prices up.

We provide basic services that services providers can do in their spare time between jobs.

If you shop at Aldi, you may understand what we do and where we are placed in the market for low income earner.

We want repeat business, of course, but don’t do this as a way to get cheaper prices for the work.

We have a no upsell policy in place with all of our contractors that are allocated the jobs, and contractor don’t use the co-op just as a way to get new customers for their main business. For them, it is more of a side gig to help out the local community.

You can ask the service provider to it for you, but they check with us if there is someone allocated to that postcode that already does it. here is no competition or haggling for work.

Our providers only do the jobs they love, and if they don’t love a job, one of their mates in our co-op will.

The service provider stills gets the referral fee if you take the job with someone else. Or, they may give you a discount if we give the job to them (out of their referral fee).

But if you do want the smoked herring paste, not available at Aldi, tell us when we confirm that the job has been done to your satisfaction (required before we pay them)

We can get trusted professionals to quote for the job, and they may add it to their service offers in your postcode if there is a need in your community.

As customers, you can also earn income from the referral fees once you are in our system (after your first paid job).

We are a booking service, but also our service providers invoice under their own ABN, and have public liability insurance for that already.

For most of the jobs, it is not a major expense likely to add to the price of the service. But just like buying the tools to do the job, it’s a normal business expense.

This is why some tasks may need to be done by qualified and experienced professionals, who have the relevant insurance, but they usually have to charge more to cover those costs. It may not be available in your area, but may come under the “more stuff” FAQ above.

Sure, pick up your phone and give us a call? We hope you remember how to do that?

Scroll down to the other ways you can contact us at the bottom of this page.

Become a service provider or referral partner

There are many ways you could earn income from the local home and garden repair booking system.

This could come from invoicing us to do work we book for you, or we pay a finder’s fee to you for sending work to your mates in our network too.

It’s a marketing co-op business model. What’s that you ask?

Get together with your mates and come up with simple ways to make things easier all around the house and yard for older homeowners.

We then find people that are willing to pay you to do that.

We also teach you how to set up your own marketing systems if you want to build your own business as part of our support to get you regular jobs.

Sign up below, and we can do that for you.

You get the full T&Cs after you tell us what work you want to do in your local community.

About Us

Using our 30+ years experience in developing new businesses, the Inception Network creates opportunities for Small Businesses. Our experience and passion help small businesses survive a thrive in challenging times.

This is how I got into my first business when I was 21, and would not have been able to do it without the personal support some giants in the retail industry. Which is why I have a passion for helping startups.

“Giving back to the small business community is as life-changing now as it was for me starting in business, and even easier to do now if you embrace new technology.”

Brett O’Connor, Founder, Inception Network.
